Over time, more and more of my clients have not been local residents, but rather families visiting Oahu on vacation. I have to say, that made me a little sad because I become attached to these families. I learn about them and become fully invested in order to best capture who they are. And just like that, they’re gone. I’m left wondering how the kids are growing and changing over the years – whether they finally lost that first tooth, whether they were still awestruck by the mere existence of sharks, or if they are walking yet.
What i’ve discovered is that there is a large group of people who love Hawaii so much, they visit regularly. Many have ties to the Islands. Either they lived here at some point in their lives or they have family here. Maxine has one of those families and I was so excited to see them again. Even though her husband couldn’t make the trip, I was able to capture the girl enjoying a beautiful sunrise at Kailua Beach. Just a quiet morning of snuggling and exploring. Hope to see these sweet faces again next year!
