“I don’t want cheese-y maternity portraits. I just want to have fun and enjoy our time in Hawaii – a time when it was just the three of us.” That was Danielle’s request for her maternity photo session. I’m all about fun so it’s a message I was happy to comply with. They were staying at the newly revamped Four Seasons in Koolina and were up for anything.
Since they were visiting from Canada and don’t spend a lot of time in the ocean, we opted for nearby Paradise Cove. The cove’s calm water and sandy bottom make it an ideal toddler beach. Kind of like beach 101. And little Mason was ready for it. Despite the early wake up time, he was wide-eyed and bubbling with excitement. The beach! The sand! The water! He stayed dry for all of five minutes before quite literally throwing himself into the ocean. He splashed around happily and then began rolling in the sand like a baby seal. Pure delight. Silly us, we had been worried how he would react to this new salty environment.
Naturally, his fun-loving parents joined him and we were all happy to jump in the warm water at the end of their session.
