Every year since the girls were taking their tentative first steps, the Meadow family has scheduled a family photo session. Being from the East Coast, most of these photos include the warm tones of fall, but they have particularly fond memories of shots from vacations in Cape Cod. Toes in the cool sand. The girls walking hand in hand along the shore. The years seem to pass more quickly as of late and their annual photo tradition has lapsed as the girls grew into teenagers. This trip would be a great opportunity to spend time together and make new memories on another little beach.
We emerged from the canopied beach access path into bright sunshine and pounding surf. The girls skipped on ahead snapping photos of each other and their impressive surroundings with their phones. They were quick to hug and even as teenagers, still vied for mom and dad’s attention. As a mom to grade-schoolers, that’s always heart-warming to see. They ventured further and further out until they were soaked by a couple of rogue waves. The sun set with them laughing and happy. They were still full of energy and headed into town for some urban fun.
You’re never too old for a family photo session.
