The perfect Kailua sunrise| Fun Oahu family photography

Many people ask if I have a favorite spot for family photos, a perfect beach location, but I don’t. The beach is a chameleon, changing its colors with the clouds and tides and wind. Although I don’t have a favorite location, I do have favorite weather. And this was it. It was a perfectly still morning on the windward side and an extreme low tide acted as a reflecting pool of the fluffy clouds above. It was magical and I was absolutely giddy at our good fortune. Henry was too. He’s the photographer in their family and wanted to make it into some photos himself for a change.

They were staying in a vacation rental just a couple doors down from me in Kailua. The plan was to relax and soak in the island-style vibe before heading to the hustle of Waikiki. All we had to do was stroll over to the beach and take it all in. The shallow, calm water was perfect for Charlotte and she wasted no time splashing and exploring. What beautiful memories we made.
