A Better Experience
Eva only experienced traditional photo shoots in the past, but for their first Hawaiian vacation she wanted something more casual and just plain fun. That approach makes all the difference for a reserved tween. As kids gets older, they become increasingly aware of the camera. Some mug for the camera and flash goofy faces. Others put on elaborate dance performances. But for a reserved, computer-loving, Lego-constructing artist like Evan, a photo session can feel a bit like torture.
At the Cove
We kept it mellow and took lots of time to explore the cove and tide pools. They weren’t entirely sold on the idea of jumping in the water, but by the end of the session they were happy they brought along swimsuits just in case. It was the lure of a sea turtle sighting that sold them. They badly wanted to see one on their trip, but had no luck so far. Since Paradise Cove is a popular turtle hang out, the whole family jumped in. No luck with the turtles, but they had a great time and the kids were completely transformed. It was just a day at the beach with their favorite people in the world. Not too shabby.
