On the shy side

Booking a family photo session when you have shy children can be a bit nerve-wracking. Introduce a new person plus a new environment and you worry that they will cling to your leg the entire time. That was Caroleina’s biggest fear. At home her girls are playful, active and silly, but they clam up around new people. She really wanted to capture their true personalities along with the closeness her family shares. Bonus point for the tropical beach backdrop for their Hawaii family portraits.

A Disney Resort Vacation

They were staying at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Koolina so we picked a mellow beach nearby. Paradise Cove Beach is a perfect beach for those a bit nervous around the ocean. The reef protects the cove from big waves and the tide pools call for exploration. We met early on a weekday and were lucky to have the beach all to ourselves. The girls slowly disentangled from their parent’s arms and set out to explore – first a toe in the water followed by a splash. By the end of our session they were dripping wet and giggling happily. And just like that beautiful memories were made.
