Is a Week in Hawaii Enough?
The seven day vacation is a tricky one. You head somewhere new and want to see and experience as much as possible. You might want to hike to a waterfall, try your hand at surfing, or visit a museum. And don’t forget all the good food to be devoured. Sometimes you look forward to being hungry again so you can try more food (Italy, Spain, i’m looking at you). In the end you’ve had an amazing time, but now you’re exhausted (possibly more exhausted than when you started) and have to head back home. That’s no good.
An Epic Family Vacation in Hawaii
The Probst’s are the third family i’ve photographed this month who said down with the week long vacation. We’re taking a month. A full month of vacation. I love it. They started their journey by gawking at whales on Maui, watching lava flow into the ocean on Big Island, and breathing in the sheer green-ness and solitude of Kauai. For their grande finale they settled into a vacation rental on family-friendly Kailua Beach. Relaxing at their beach house gave them a chance to connect and lounge before heading back to the real world. Their trip was so amazing that they decided to commemorate it with a photo session. I received their somewhat frantic call and just had to fit them in for a for a last-minute mini session. We played hard and sent them off with memories of their Hawaiian vacation.
About the Session
We planned for a light and fun mini session within walking distance from thier rental home. The kids were happy to laugh and play and roll in the sand as they prepared to say goodbye to Hawaii. It was a great way to end an epic vacation.
