Returning Home
Megan grew up in a house steps away from Kalama Beach Park. You can hear the ocean roar from her bedroom window. You can feel the salt spray dust your skin while playing in the yard. It’s an incredible location and one that always stays with you. She has since moved to the mainland, but looks forward to regular family reunions. She brings her little ones back to Hawaii to her parent’s home so they can experience the surf and sun and fall in love with the ocean just like she did as a child.
A Hawaii Family Reunion
I got to join their family reunion. It was a great opportunity for everyone to slow down and focus on enjoying each others company. We started at sunrise in their backyard which is adjacent to Kalama Beach Park. When the kids tired, we headed into the house for an impromptu dance party and a lesson on cars, followed by a much needed nap.
