When you live in the chaos and craziness of southern California, you want your vacations to be extra relaxing. Into the country away from people relaxing. So while most visitors opt for Waikiki or Koolina, Ana picked Laie as their home base. It’s green and calm and peaceful, well, except for the roosters.
We met just down the road from their vacation rental at Laie Beach Park. It’s one of my favorite photo spots on the island because you have incredible beach and mountain views and you can’t see any development. It looks like some far away tropical island. Certainly not Oahu.
This trip was a special one. Not only were they celebrating a twelfth anniversary, but their sweet little fourth of July baby was turning one during their trip. Ana wanted to capture some candid, honest moments and just have a fun morning. We arrived to a rain squall, but it eventually gave way to a lovely morning that was perfect for some first steps and beach play.
