It’s hard to be far from family. Especially when you have young children. Babies are born, milestones quickly pass, and some grandparents are only able to experience it afar through photographs. When they finally do get to meet in person, it’s a special occasion. This family living on opposite sides of the world, devised a plan for everyone to fly to the midpoint for a fun family reunion in Hawaii.
We met under the brilliant blue sky and surf of Waimanalo Bay where family joked around and hugged tightly. Christy had the inside scoop at Bellows and managed to secure one of the coveted waterfront cottages. The amazing blue of the Pacific was just steps from their door. Amid this backdrop, the morning flowed effortlessly. We played silly games and tried to keep up with 4-year-old Liam. His boundless energy kept him moving the entire session. His baby sister took the opposite approach and decided a nap was a much better use of time. I left them to explore their new family dynamic and contemplate a late morning nap. By the way, the answer is yes. Always yes to a nap.
