The Beauty & Diversity of Big Island
Big Island has a wild, raw beauty that is undeniable. Its diversity is unparalleled from dripping rain forest to barren moonscape. You can dance on black, white, and green sand beaches, gawk at waterfalls as they meet the ocean, and gorge on lychee, papaya, and mango. If you’re lucky, you can even watch lava bubble beneath the ground or feel its heat emanate from steam vents and hot springs. It’s like stepping back in time to witness how islands are born. Or maybe you’re not stepping back in time at all. A major eruption of Kilauea Volcano in 2018 decimated homes, communities, and miles of beautiful coastline.
A Family Trip to Big Island, Hawaii
The Big Island calls for adventure. So when a friend posted a request for a house sitter, we jumped at the chance. We celebrated the end of school performances and preschool graduation (!!), packed our bags, and set off for Big Island to enjoy two weeks of country living complete with chickens. Here is a glimpse from part of our visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (Kilauea iki trail), Waipio Valley, hot springs at Issac Hale Beach Park, and Waialea Beach (Beach 69) on the Kohala coast. As a Hawaii family lifestyle photographer, it was a little bit of heaven.

Gorgeous, per usual. I love the one of little hands inspecting the fern! Literally took my breath away.
Um, yeah, Gorgeous!!! I cant even pick a favorite. I thought it was the fern until I saw the light on that rope, and then the last one with the water?!
