A New Start
A very Happy New Year! I love the start of a new year. A chance to start fresh with grand ideas, plans, and adventures. Two big ones are already in the books – a wedding in Hungary and a 200-mile relay race around Big Island. It’s going to be a good year. And I’m excited to continue on with our monthly blog circle where a group of photographers document snippets of their own lives. It’s a fun way to peek into the beauty of another family’s world. This monthly project will be even more important for me this year as I am becoming obsessed with video and need a reminder to take a few stills here and there.
Christmas in Hawaii
Our Christmas in Hawaii was equal parts beach play and Christmas hoopla. We finally took the kids to Paradise Cove to swim with the turtles. We saw the train go by, ate ice cream, and they thought it was just as spectacular as a visit to Aulani. A big thank you to the turtles for making an appearance and saving us a lot of money And then we made a late-season run to Helemano Farms to pick out our Christmas tree.

Our favorite tradition involves a tree hunt. When possible, we get a permit and hike through the forest to cut our own Christmas tree. The second best is making a visit to the Christmas tree farm on the north shore.
