Our backyard glows with a soft light as the sun dips below the Koolaus. I love this time of day and often take the kids for an evening paddle along the canal to peak at the ocean and search for sea turtles. It’s known as “turtle hour” in our house. We were running short on time this particular day so I sent Micah off for his first solo paddle. He proudly carried his boat down the slippery ramp and launched after a dramatic countdown – “Launching in T-10.9.8.7…” Mila was content to watch from the shore and search for crabs and metallic blue “ladybugs.” “Maybe next time”, she said.

Pure magic! Simply gorgeous moments captured in such a beautiful way!
Thank you Laurie!
Wow, Heather! Breathtaking place and images! I hope I’ll get to visit Hawaii someday! :)
Thanks so much for the kind words Lais! I hope you make it out here too :)
Seriously…The image of your little one on the paddle board in the canal, with the mountains and all the lush green surrounding him – I just started at it for 10 minutes, and then immediately went to real estate websites to see start looking for a home in Hawaii. What a truly magical place, and your images transport me right there!
Thanks so much Tricia! But real estate, ugh! A million dollars in Kailua will buy you a tiny fixer-upper. The only way we could buy a house is if we could go back in time a decade or two. Magic is expensive :)
So much beauty in these. I love the reflections, and the pics of your little sweetie’s blonde hair. How awesome is it that they’re kayaking?!!
Thanks Lorrin! I take a lot of pictures of that blonde hair because I know it’s going to change at some point :)
Beautiful images…I can see you treasure how blessed you are in your surroundings and those who surround you.
