End of the road

At the end of the road, at the tip of the island lies a most stunning beach surrounded by wild ocean and glowing mountains. It’s a long drive that I don’t make often enough. Ah, but I had just the right family for this beautiful spot. A family who loves Hawaii (maybe) as much as I do. They were married at Turtle Bay and have been back to Oahu every year since. They know the island well, so I wanted to take them somewhere different. Somewhere special. And that’s how we found ourselves at Yokohama Bay on a sunny morning.

A beach to ourselves

The kids spilled out of the car after their long drive and ran straight for the beach to dig their toes in the cool morning sand. We played games and laughed and explored long after the sun peaked over the mountains to warm the rocks. I always get swept up in the excitement and feel like i’m on vacation too. It’s hard to stop and say goodbye. Finally growling stomachs got the best of us and sent us off in search of food and more adventure. Until next year my friends.
