Honolulu Family Portrait Photographer Takes on 3 Under 3
Three under three. Tell someone you have three children under three-years-old and you may be met with a wide-eyed look of a horror. That look is often accompanied by a sucking of breath through the teeth. Three under three translates into supreme bragging rights among families and for good reason. You’re simply outnumbered. You’re diapering and potty training at the same time.
It might not seem like an ideal time to tackle a photo session, but Vicki and David decided it was a must. They were moving off the island soon and wanted to take some tropical memories along with them. The girls were all born on the Oahu, but being so young would have little memory of it. It would be nice to have memories of this special place they once called home.
The Session
Since David hates the beach (yes, you read that right), we opted for the lush, green of Nuuanu Valley Park. Of course lush and green means lots of rain and true to form it was drizzling the morning we met. We hovered outside the car deliberating while the girls bounced in their seats bursting with excitement. Slowly, the rain slowed to a drizzle and the squall moved further up the mountains.
We released the beasts from the car and they happily raced to the park at top speed. An overcast day in the forest translates into a brilliant green which was a perfect backdrop for this vibrant family. Amidst complaints of dirty toes and sibling bickering there was tickling, and snuggling, and bubbles. Oh, the bubbles. What can be more fun than chasing bubbles?
Not a fan of the beach?
There’s no rule that says you have to have your family portraits at the beach because you’re in Hawaii. Let’s plan something you’re family likes. We can go for a hike or play under a deep green canopy to capture memories rainforest-style. Find out more about my fun family photography sessions here.
