A Purse with a Beach Vibe

I’ll admit it, i’m too lazy to carry a purse or accessorize. Jamie has me rethinking all that now and has given me a serious case of bag envy. She is the owner and amazing designer behind Kayu Designs. Not only do they produce intricately beautiful bags, but they’re handcrafted by skilled female artisans in the Philippines, providing them with a living wage.

She was visiting Oahu for a little family vacation and scheduled a session to capture images of her new line for J. crew along with some fun family photos. And they are a fun family. Little Kyson was stoked to be at the beach. He loved everything from the sand and water to dried leaves and tree stumps. It’s so great to be kid!

 

The Hunt for Shave Ice

Jamie left me with a delicious mission. To photograph one of her bags with some Hawaiian shave ice. I searched for the most photogenic shave ice on the island and was happy to find it was the most delicious as well – Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha. Seriously worth a trip to the other side of the island. Plus the staff was awesome and not only carved me a mochi heart but let me stand on chairs for photos.
