A photography emergency?
Erin contacted me with a photography emergency. She had considered booking a newborn photography session, but decided to hold off until the baby was a little older. But then she saw that sweet baby face for the first time, and knew she had made a mistake. He was simply too adorable to pass on photos. I know I’m biased, but I couldn’t agree more. Squishy, squishy cuteness.
A hot summer
I huffed and puffed my way up to their home balanced precariously on the Lanikai hillside. The sun was blazing, the beach was packed, and bright kayaks dotted the bay. Stepping inside, however, I was transported to a world of peace and calm and baby smell. I wish they could bottle that smell. New parents are rarely calm, but these two were completely at ease. I snapped photos of baby Henry in a deep slumber. Once awake he decided it was too hot to be snuggled. No swaddles, no blankets, and certainly no touching. That’s pretty much how I feel in the heat. Pick him and he would cry. Lie him down next to the fan with his ocean view and he was a peace.
