With a due date and deployment date uncomfortably close, I was nervous for this budding family. A cross country move and a baby on the way sounds like a traumatic ordeal and it’s not the only military family I photographed in this situation.
Baby William came into the world a week before the big move. I would have been a bit panicked and frantic, but these two took it all in stride. Honestly, I think they were so enamored with their sweet baby boy to be phased by anything. When I arrived at their home I found new parents who were relaxed and mellow and completely in love. They spent the afternoon snuggling and loving on their little guy. Because they were about to move away from Oahu, we decided to add in a detour to Kailua Beach. What good is it to be born in Hawaii and have no proof? At least those little cheeks were kissed by the salt air before being whisked away. I hope he returns one day to splash in the waves.
